Funny Things Noah Says

Come look at my new big boy bed.

Is that so I won't fall off my bed again?

Talking to his stuffed angel: "Angel, this is glow worm."

N    O     A    H, that spells Noah.

Nathan has a few new words and seems to be changing all the time.  He calls a 4-wheeler a "ro-ro" and he calls Elmo "Melmo."  He is trying to mimic more words now.  He says "dow" which I think means down.  He has a certain word for drink that is something like "dink dink."  He tried to say "mouse" today and he did without the "s".  He had hand-foot-mouth disease two weeks ago and was miserable.  I took him to the doctor and he weighed a little over 25 pounds.  His personality is developing.  Today he was playing peek-a-boo with me.  At first he would bend down and hide behind the table then pop up at me.  He also covered his eyes with his hands and then would peek at me.  It was cute!

Noah cracks us up!  He has a new game with Nathan.  He will ask Nathan "are you my boy?" and Nathan will shake his head and say "uh uh" and laugh then Noah goes over to him and kisses him on the head.  Noah calls his 4-wheeler a 4-wheeyer which is cute.  I asked him about school the other day and he kept talking about his friend named Corder.  I said "are you saying Corder or Porter?" and he said "corder."  I asked if he really had a kid in his class name "corder" and he said yes.  I told him I didn't know what he was saying and he said "I don't know what I'm saying either."  Then we both cracked up.  When I ask him to do something he doesn't want to do he'll say "how about no."  Kenny and Debi bought him Bibleman dvd for his birthday and he likes watching it.  He is also a huge Bolt fan.  I told him today that I loved him and he said "I love you too" and it melted my heart.  He made me a book at MDO for Mother's Day and he is very proud of it.  It's "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" and we've read it several times already.  He likes to read and ask me several questions.  He's so inquisitive and picks up on everything.

Nathan is changing a lot and learning many new things.  He now can drink from a straw.  He has a big appetite.  He eats more than Noah now!  He isn't very picky either and eats what we feed him.  He says Mama, Dada, Nonna, ball, wow, BooBoo, Ella, tractor, night-night, and cracker and he'll also repeat some words if we say them first like banana, cross, cookie.  He makes certain sounds for things like drink, Grampy, Noah.  He loves his squeaky shoes and wants to put them back on when I take them off at night.  One night I took them off and he picked them up, gave them to me, and held up his foot.  Today I was blowing air through my lips and he was trying to so he'd pucker them up and blow then he'd laugh.  He loves playing with cars and tractors and he pushes them around and says "bruummm brummm".  It's really cute.  His new trick is crawling up on top of things then standing up and looking at us.  He crawls up on top of the side tables or chairs and does this.  He calls most animals Ella.  When he sees a cow or a duck he'll make the right sounds for them.  He will also say turkey and frog and try to make their sounds as well.  He will give hugs and kisses too which is so sweet.  I'm not sure how tall he is or how much he weighs, but he has grown a lot lately.

Noah is 3

Noah turned three two days ago on April 9.  We got him a sand box for our backyard and when he saw it he first said "what is that?" and then when he saw what it was he said "this is the best birthday present in the whole world!"  He had a Lightning McQeen/Cars birthday party for our families on Saturday and had a blast.  All the kids brought their riding toys and the rode their 4-wheelers around and around the house.  My mom and I made him Cars cupcakes and put them on a cupcake stand and it turned out really cute.  Noah didn't even eat lunch; he rode his 4-wheeler then came in to open presents and he ate 2 cupcakes.  He got some nice gifts from everyone: Cars toys, backpack and wallet, V-Tech video game system, clothes, race track, Thomas the Train tracks and trains, tractor, Cars shoes, and some shirts.  He had his 3-year check-up on Wednesday and weighed 36 pounds (90th percentile) and was 38 inches tall (50th percentile).  He didn't have any shots and was in perfect health!  The doctor said everything was great.  Some funny things he's said recently are: "do we stick our fingers in coffee?" and "what's in Mickey's pants? Is it a glow worm?"  Of course this totally cracked us up.  He also asked me last night if I say no all the time and I told him it sure feels like it!  When we ask him a question he'll see "I sure did" or "it sure is" and he does it with a southern drawl which makes us laugh.  He doesn't seem to eat much either.  When he does eat, a little bit later he'll tell me he's hungry.

Nathan's 15-month update
Sunday, 08 March 2009
My little baby Nathan isn't such a little baby anymore!  He has been walking on his own since about the middle of January.  Just this week he has been referring to me as Mama.  He says Mama, Dada, Ella, quack quack, moo, tractor followed by bruummm bruummm,  banana (sort of), and Elga (which is his cow).  He also has his own special word for Grampy that sounds like Adada.  He can identify several different things now like different types of animals, airplanes, cars, trucks, people, balls, etc.  He tries to say Noah and Brother but it comes out as his own special blend.  He eats all kinds of foods but he really likes pizza, ice cream, meatballs, and cottage cheese.  He really likes bananas too.  He's in the Toddler 1 class at school and loves his teachers.  He is sleeping on a little cot which is funny to me!  When I check on him during his naptime at school he is usually alseep on his back while all the other little ones are on their tummies.  He loves the paci still, especially when he's sleepy.  He's into size 18-24 months and a shoe size 5.  He's a sweet little boy who loves to read books and cuddle with his Mama.  He will bring books to us and grab our hands and place the book in them.  It's funny!  Then when I ask him if he wants to sit in my lap to read the book he giggles and climbs in.  He's a good sleeper.  He sleeps around 11-12 hours at night and normally takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoons.  He hasn't taken a morning nap since back around August.  He follows Noah around and wants to do the things that he does.  He likes going to the zoo and is content to ride around in the stroller and look at all the animals.

Noah's Almost 3!
Sunday, 08 March 2009
Lots of things have happened that I should probably journal before I forget!  Noah got his first stitches on February 25.  He fell at school and had to get 4 stitches on his left cheek.  He got them removed on March 2 and it seems to be healing nicely.  He then got pink eye this weekend and is getting over that.  The other night he was sitting in the recliner next to me and was singing a song.  I was watching him sing and he stopped and turned to me and said "Mama, don't look at me while I'm trying to sing!"  I thought it was hysterical!  He loves watching the movie Cars and wants a Cars birthday party.  He also likes Madagascar 2.  He likes playing with trains and is into musical instruments.  He is proficient at the iPhones and knows how to play the games and even send text messages.  He sometimes gets his play phone and will push the buttons and tell me he's texting someone.  Tonight he was playing baseball in the backyard and repeatedly hit the ball over the fence.  He was hitting the ball hard and it was going far.  He loves going to the farm and riding his 4-wheeler and feeding the cows.  His cow's name is M-Boo and she now has a baby that he named Donut.  He likes to play golf also.  He knows all his shapes and colors, the letters of the alphabet, and he can count to somewhere around 20.  He will be 3 in a month and I can't believe it.  He is so independent now.  He wants to open his own car door to get out and he also wants to get into his car seat by himself.
