Playing @ McDonalds
Decided to take the boys to Mcdonalds for some ice cream and playtime. Apparently it’s the place to go after school, as it was crowded with kids. Both boys at some ice cream and them played on the playground. They met 2 boys their same age and they played together. Then Nate found their dinner and figured it was community food because their mom asked me if I minded if he ate french fries. If I did it was too late!
Booster seat in car
We got Noah a booster seat for the car and he loves it. He thinks he’s such a big boy to be able to use the seatbelt. We got a seat with dome airplanes on it which is another plus for him.
First OSU game for the boys
We took the boys to Stillwater on Sept 19 for their first ever OSU football game. The Cowboys played Rice and won 41-24. Noah and Nathan liked seeing Bullet and Pistol Pete. They also got to see Eskimo Joe and Buffy. When I asked Nathan what Pete says he said “Go Pokes!”. My parents went too along with Ryan and me. It was nice having two extra sets of hands. The boys ate corn dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy. They also ate some of my peanut M&Ms so by the third quarter they were hyped up. As we left the stadium Nathan waved at the field and said “bye bye Cowboys.” the guy sitting behind us said our kids did good! We parked south of Hideaway and did some shopping at Chris’. Nonna bought Noah a big styrofoam pistol that kept him occupied.
We heart cupcakes!
We love cupcakes around here. Our new favorites come from Green Goodies. They are delicious and organic. Noah got a red velvet with buttercream icing and Nathan got the chocolate on chocolate. I had a cookies and mint one that was fantastic! Ryan always gets the hostess one that is like the hostess cupcakes with the white swirl on top.
Big boy bed
Nathan started crawling out of his crib last week. One morning he just walked into our room. I asked Noah if he had helped Nathan out of his crib and he said no. We decided that it would be safer to convert his crib to a toddler bed rather than have him hurt himself or fall out. He also learned (through noah’s example) how to crawl into the crib. He went down easily tonight, just like usual. He didn’t once get out of bed. We’ll see how the rest of the night and tomorrow morning goes. He’s getting so big!
Take home bear
Noah came home from school today with a bear in a bag. It had a note saying that the bear came home to visit and has to go back to school but that the bear likes to read the good night book and has to be in bed by 8. Noah said that it was Mrs. Russ’s bear but that she told him it was his job to take care of it. Noah named the bear Rosco and we read the book to it tonight. Nathan also liked the bear and carried it around too. We have one more night with the bear.
Noah’s first day of preschool
Noah started preschool at Warm World today. He was excited to go and meet his new friends. His new teacher is Mrs. Russ and she’s very nice. Wr had to take snacks for his class so we took some boxes of cheez-its and dropped them off a few weeks ago during Cookie Lookie. He’s asked me about them and wants to know where his cheez-its are.
Game Day!
Sept 5–first OSU game day of 2009 and we are all pumped about it! We’ve taught Nathan how to do his arms and say OSU Cowboys. He also waves his “pistols” and says “Go Pokes!”. We got the boys matching OSU outfits and they look cute in them. Ryan and KK are fixing gameday food which consists of buffalo wings, burger sliders, chips and dip, and brownies. The cowboys got the victory against Georgia! Go Pokes!
Mom/son trip to Chuck E Chhese
Nathan started Starbright last Thursday so Noah and I spent the day together, just the two of us. I gave him some options of activities we could do and he chose Chuck E Cheese, but kept asking if we could eat Pizza Hut too! We played all sorts of games like skee ball, hoops, and the water gun game. He rode the little rides like the monster truck, the Barney mobile, helicopter, and horse. He also played in the tunnels and slides. Our favorite game was one where we threw balls at different targets on a screen. One of the targets was an alligator and Noah liked aiming at it. We shared a cheese pizza and he shared one of his slices with me. He traded in his tickets and got a little foam soccer ball rocket thing. We had such a great time together!
