Funny Things Noah Says Come look at my new big boy bed. Is that so I won't fall off my bed again? Talking to his stuffed angel: "Angel, this is glow worm." N O A H, that spells Noah. |

We have had a super busy summer but things are going great! The boys went on their first plane ride in July when we went to Ohio. Noah kept saying “1,2,3…blastoff” while we were on the runway. He told me the other day that he had “lots of things to do.” I asked him what they were and he said “hammer and nail and screw and drill.” This is in reference to his Mickey toolbox. He likes to eat at Cracker Barrel, Red Robin, and Interurban. We were reading a Noah’s Ark book the other night and at the end Noah and all the animals were out of the ark and were walking away. Noah asked me where they were going and I said I didn’t know. He said “probably Los Tres” which is a Mexican restaurant. The next time we read the book he told me they were going to Cracker Barrel. He likes to get kid’s meals from Wayne’s and he eats a grilled cheese or a corn dog (which he calls a hot dog).
Last week we were watching some Goofy show in the living room right before dinner and when we sat down at the table to eat Ryan switched the channel to turn on the Olympics. Noah said he wanted to watch Goofy and Ryan told him it didn't come on in the living room on that tv. Noah thought about it a second then said "yes it does, I just watched it a minute ago." He got a big boy bed this weekend. The actual furniture is Ethan Allen and was my dad's when he was little then was used by Dustin. We got the furniture and bought Noah a new mattress and boxspring. The first night I didn't have a safety rail so we didn't use the boxspring and I lined the side with pillows and also put pillows and blankets on the floor just in case he fell. He woke up early the next morning and I told him to get back in bed and he said "I don't want to fall out again." Needless to say we went that morning and got the rail. He asked if the rail was so he "wouldn't fall out again." Last night we put him to bed and we could hear him talking on the monitor. He had a praying angel doll and also his gloworm in bed with him. He said "Angel, this is gloworm." We were cracking up! I guess he was being polite and introducing his friends to each other. He has seen the You Tube clip called Charlie Bit Me so he mimics that sometimes. He also got some new Nike Shox and he calls them his new kicks. He was talking to my mom on her way to school this morning and I told him to tell her to have a good day at school and he did. She didn't hear him right and asked if he was going to school today. He said "I'm not going, you are." He loves Mickey and dinosaurs (especially triceretops). He also loves tractors and diggers and can identify front loaders, back hoes, diggers, bulldozers, etc. He likes John Deere and has a shirt and hat.
He knows his directions and knows that Lawton is south and will point down the road in that way. If we turn down Hefner Parkway he knows we’re going to church or if we go straight he knows we are going to Target. Even if we aren’t going to those exact places but are headed in that direction he will ask me if that’s where we’re going. I told him we were going to eat at BJ’s the other day and when we got close he said “there it is.” If he sees a Braum’s sign he’ll see “that’s where we get ice cream.” We were heading west the other day and he asked me if we were going home. He’ll ask which direction is east, west, or south.
He likes to sing and dance. He can sing lots of songs like the alphabet song, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Old MacDonald, Itsy Bitsy Spider, the clean up song, Triceretops with 3 Long Horns, The Wheels on the Bus, Elmo’s World, Hot Dog song, Mickey Mouse clubhouse, and some other common ones. He likes when I make up songs and put his name or Nathan’s name in them. He can spell his name and also spell Emmy, Ella, and Hoppy (if we sing the songs that go with them).
We started potty training the second week of June and he’s only had a handful of pee accidents since after the first few days. He uses a little urinal or the big potty. We haven’t quite mastered going #2 on the potty, but we’ll get there eventually. It’s hit or miss in that area for now.
He loves going to the zoo and omniplex. Each day is an adventure with him. We love watching him learn and grow. He changes so much all the time and we have so much fun with him.
