Noah cracks us up! He loves playing the “super new mario brothers” which is Super Mario brothers on the Wii. That has been our leverage lately like if he stays in bed when we put him there at night then he gets to play a few worlds in the morning. If he’s good at school then he gets to play a few worlds when he comes home. He is in the preschool class at MDO now and he thinks he’s a big boy. We also put a digital clock in his room and told him that in the mornings he can get up and go to the bathroom but that he has to get back in bed until the first number is a 7. For two days it has worked now so I hope it continues! Here’s what happened yesterday: Noah had to go to the bathroom so I followed him to help him with his pants. He was carrying around a little red rubber ball so he set it on the bathroom counter. After he used the bathroom he washed his hands and I handed him the towel to dry his hands. I walked out of the bathroom and turned out the light. He followed me out and said “Hey, it’s not nice to turn the light out when someone is in there because then they can’t see their balls.” I kept a straight face then cracked up after he left the room (juvenile, I know!) but it struck me as funny. Stephanie watched him and Nathan today while I worked and Noah was brushing his teeth tonight and told me he needed one of those toothbrushes with the button that spins around. I asked him where he’d seen that and he said “At Stephanie’s house. I found it in the bathroom and tried it out. I liked it so I need to buy one.” Needless to say I called Stephanie and told her to sterilize the mechanical toothbrush in her bathroom that belongs to her daughter!
We got Noah a booster seat for the car and he loves it. He thinks he’s such a big boy to be able to use the seatbelt. We got a seat with dome airplanes on it which is another plus for him.

Noah came home from school today with a bear in a bag. It had a note saying that the bear came home to visit and has to go back to school but that the bear likes to read the good night book and has to be in bed by 8. Noah said that it was Mrs. Russ’s bear but that she told him it was his job to take care of it. Noah named the bear Rosco and we read the book to it tonight. Nathan also liked the bear and carried it around too. We have one more night with the bear.

Noah started preschool at Warm World today. He was excited to go and meet his new friends. His new teacher is Mrs. Russ and she’s very nice. Wr had to take snacks for his class so we took some boxes of cheez-its and dropped them off a few weeks ago during Cookie Lookie. He’s asked me about them and wants to know where his cheez-its are.

Nathan started Starbright last Thursday so Noah and I spent the day together, just the two of us. I gave him some options of activities we could do and he chose Chuck E Cheese, but kept asking if we could eat Pizza Hut too! We played all sorts of games like skee ball, hoops, and the water gun game. He rode the little rides like the monster truck, the Barney mobile, helicopter, and horse. He also played in the tunnels and slides. Our favorite game was one where we threw balls at different targets on a screen. One of the targets was an alligator and Noah liked aiming at it. We shared a cheese pizza and he shared one of his slices with me. He traded in his tickets and got a little foam soccer ball rocket thing. We had such a great time together!

Noah asked Ryan what he’s going to do with the doves and Ryan told him he was going to cook them and eat them. Noah told him not to cook the dove because it would make all the other doves sad. Ryan started laughing and Noah got serious and said “why are you laughing at me?”. It was funny.
Noah is so funny! The things he says and does are hysterical. The other morning he came into our room around 5am and asked me if he could get in bed with us. I told him no that it was night night time and for him to go back to bed. He wanted me to take him back to bed so I did and as we crossed through the livingroom he said “I saw a shadow” and I said uh-huh (still half-asleep) and he said “it looked like a donkey.” I started laughing. Yesterday morning we heard Noah awake in the livingroom so Ryan went to see what he was doing. He was sitting in the middle of the floor with the cupcake holder (which previously had 1 cupcake left in it) and had eaten the cupcake and had a little towel next to him that he had cleaned himself off with. He had decided to eat a cupcake for breakfast.
The boys sometimes play in our closet or room. They “hide” in different places. One day they were both in the shower talking to each other and Noah said, “Nathan, do you want to talk to God?” and Nathan said “huh-uh” so Noah said, “OK, I will. Hi God. How are you?” then Nathan chimed in “Hi God.” It was sweet.
Last night, the Humes came over for sticky steak (venison backstrap) and cupcakes. We were all running around and playing in the yard and Noah said “Dade Chapman, stop that.” It was really funny. I guess he’s heard Wendi say that before
About 3 or 4 weeks ago, we bought Noah the overnight pull-ups instead of putting him in overnight diapers. That way he could go to the bathroom at night if he needed to. He has done really well. He usually makes it all night staying dry. Sometimes he’ll get up once at night to use the bathroom but that’s getting better now.
His cow, MBoo, just had another calf and Noah named her Martha. Now he has MBoo, Donut, and Martha.

Noah has also grown and changed recently. Everything with him is “why?” He is genuinely curious about things and why they are the way they are. The other day he was riding his little tractor and a long piece of grass was stuck to the tire. He said, “This is stuck to the tire and that makes me angry.” He picks up on all the things we say. He got new teachers this summer for MDO and he asked me where his old teachers were. I told him they were on vacation for the summer. After his first day of class he asked me when his teachers would be back from their vacation. He misses Ms. De and Ms. Gazelle a lot. He’s my little helper around the house. He wants to help cook, fold clothes, or put clothes away (which usually means he throws them in the floor). He knows the words to several songs like Back and Forth, The Motions, Jesus loves me, happy birthday, twinkle twinkle little star, etc. He knows the entire alphabet and can recognize all the letters. He doesn’t like to swim in the big pool, only the baby pool. We took him to the lake last week and he freaked out when we put him in the water. He was holding on to me as tight as he could and wouldn’t let go. He loves to play on the playground. We got them tv’s for the car and he thinks that’s the coolest thing ever to watch movies while we drive. He also likes to go to McDonald’s or Burger King because he wants the toys in the kid’s meals. We don’t do this too often but every once in awhile we go as a special treat. The other night I put him to bed and Ryan was gone playing softball so I put both boys in their beds and got in the shower. When I got out of the shower I heard a noise in the living room. I went in there and it was dark but I heard the rustling sound again. Noah was inside their play tunnel laying down. I told him to come out of there and he asked me, “was I good in bed?” I said no because he wasn’t in his bed then he said “oh yes I was good.” I was cracking up. He is so good with Nathan. They play together and Noah will try to get him to say new words. If Nathan is crying Noah will say “it’s ok” and give him a hug or a kiss. I think it’s so sweet when he looks at me and says, “I love you, Mommy”. It melts my heart. He also tells me that I’m his boy. I say, don’t you mean you’re my boy? and he’ll say yes, you’re my boy. He still sucks on two fingers and now he’ll show them to me and I’ll say, “ewwww, pruney!” and he cracks up. He loves riding his 4-wheeler and tells me that Beauty is his horse. I can’t believe that he’s already over 3 years old! time flies!

Noah cracks us up! He has a new game with Nathan. He will ask Nathan "are you my boy?" and Nathan will shake his head and say "uh uh" and laugh then Noah goes over to him and kisses him on the head. Noah calls his 4-wheeler a 4-wheeyer which is cute. I asked him about school the other day and he kept talking about his friend named Corder. I said "are you saying Corder or Porter?" and he said "corder." I asked if he really had a kid in his class name "corder" and he said yes. I told him I didn’t know what he was saying and he said "I don’t know what I’m saying either." Then we both cracked up. When I ask him to do something he doesn’t want to do he’ll say "how about no." Kenny and Debi bought him Bibleman dvd for his birthday and he likes watching it. He is also a huge Bolt fan. I told him today that I loved him and he said "I love you too" and it melted my heart. He made me a book at MDO for Mother’s Day and he is very proud of it. It’s "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" and we’ve read it several times already. He likes to read and ask me several questions. He’s so inquisitive and picks up on everything.
